When you open a parent account, we keep your name, email, and phone number so we can sign you in and reach you.

When you add a child, we keep their name, class, and school so their card knows who it belongs to. We do not ask a child to give us anything themselves.

When money moves, we keep a record of top ups, purchases, and the vendors involved, because that record is the whole point of the app.

We use this information to run your wallet, show you receipts, enforce the limits you set, and let the school approve the right vendors.

We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to advertisers.

Payments run through Paystack, so the details needed to take a payment go to Paystack and no further.

Your child's school can see the transactions and vendors tied to their canteen, because they run it and settle the vendors.

We share information with the authorities only if the law clearly requires it.

We keep your records for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards so the books balance and any dispute can be checked.

Ask us to close your account and we will remove what we are not required to keep.

You can update your details in the app at any time. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@canteenpay.ng.
